MRGO REPORT

I ran into Sam Barbera & Will Morgan the other day at the Dock. We were both helping out CCA with Dudley's Reef in Lake Pontchartrain. Sam invited me to go fishing with he and Will that evening. I have known Sam & Will for many years through CCA But never had the chance to fish with either guy. We made our way over to the MRGO and fished the rocks. We told fishing stories (LIES) and had a fun evening catching a few fish. Will had the hot rod catching a few Specks over 3 lbs. I didn't keep up with how many trout we caught. I would guess about 40. We all had a fun time and I look forward to fishing with Sam & Will again.

Thanks Sam & Will

BULE WAVE / BOAT STUF BAYOU BIENVENUE REPORT

Dan Couvillion wanted to get in one more ANGLING ADVENTURE before the new year. I called Dan yesterday to let him know that I thought we could catch some fish today. With the water temps in the 50 to 54 range we decided to leave my dock at 9:30. We made our way over to the MRGO. We started fishing 1/2 oz jigs with light colored plastics. The water temp was 51.4, we caught 4 Specks and 1 Flounder in the first 45 minutes. Moved back to our starting point and started drifting again picked up another 6 in 45 minutes. Moved a third time and fished near the drop off.  Crab fishermen often place there crab traps near the drop off. This makes it easy to spot the drop off. We fished near the drop off and after about 30 minutes we started catching Specks on every other cast. I told Dan " Just put the trout on the floor" we can pick them up when the bite dies down. The bite lasted about 2 hours and 35 Trout. We fished another 45 minutes to catch the last 5 Specks to finish with our limit of Specks and 1 Flounder. The bite was soft and on the bottom without much movement of your jig, Water temp was 53 deg.

Thanks Dan for another fun day on the water.

Thanks Eastofmrgo for your kind words. My email is Captainmike@AAofLA.com

As long as the water temps stay above 50 deg I think we can still catch a good number of Specks. Good luck.

BLUE WAVE / BOAT STUF  RIGOLETS FISHING REPORT

On the 1st of October I had the good fortune to be part of the "TAKE A SOLDIER FISHING PROGRAM" Jeff Tokarczyk put the TASF program together in New Orleans. Jeff wanted to fish the Biloxi Marsh. I set Jeff up with long time AAofLA client Al Calabrese. Al is a Marsh-Aholic and soon Jeff would be a Marsh-Aholic also. We fished the exterior of the marsh catching Speckled Trout with live shrimp & plastics for a few hours before we headed into the marsh looking to catch Redfish. We all had a great day on the water. Al & Jeff caught the limit of REDFISH & 30 Specks.  AN ANGLING ADVENTURE !@ ! !

Bruce Comrie guides for Peacock Bass in the Amazon, BUT the strong pull of the Louisiana Marsh REDFISH has kept him comming back to Angling Adventures for over 8 years. This year Bruce came in with his nephew Drew. They spent a few nights in the SPOTS & DOTS LODGE & fished 2 days. Bruce & Drew fished Spinners both days and caught over 50 Redfish. We also caught about 20 Specks along the way and a few Flounder.  A great time on the water ! ! !

The above average tempatures will keep the fish biting. I have boats open to take you on an ANGLING ADVENTURE. Call 985-781-7811 or 877-4-AAofLA to book your trip.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL MY FRIENDS, FAMILY & CLIENTS ! ! !

I few weeks ago I got a phone call from Justin Carter. Justin is also a member of the ZMan fishing team (makers of the CHATTERBAIT). Justin was going to fish in the IFA Kayak National Championship held in Chalmette. Here is Justin's Email.

Captain Mike,

I wanted to say thanks for all of the advise you gave me for my trip to Chalmette for the IFA Kayak National Championship.  It was a pleasure to speak with someone with so much local knowledge and you are a great asset for ZMan Fishing. You are truly blessed to live in such a beautiful area with an amazing fishery.  During my four days we experienced only one good day of weather and I can imagine how things would have turned out if it would have been nicer.  I ended up catching over 100 trout betwenn 14-20 inches, 20 flounder including half over 20 inches, and over 40 reds.  Your advise made it possible for me to not only do well in the event but it helped me win the National Championship and National Angler of the Year!!!!!!!!!  I hope to make back to there again soon and if I speak with anyone heading your way I will be sure to recommend you!!! I have enclosed several pictures and THANKS AGAIN!!!

Tight Lines,

Justin Carter

Congradulations Justin & thanks for your kind words.

BOAT STUF/ BLUE WAVE Rigolets fishing reports

Bill Davis came in from Al with the BEARINGS & POWER TRANSMISSION GROUP of 9 anglers. Capt. Jim & Tommy helped me with this group. We all fished the local area. Shrimp under a cork or on the bottom did the trick. Back at the SPOTS & DOTS cleaning tables we cleaned over 125 fish. Mostly Speckled Trout, But also some White Trout, Black Drum, Redfish, Flounder & Sheepshead. This is a fun group to fish with. The group spent a few nights in the SPOTS & DOTS LODGE. They are making plans to return next year.

Capt. Kenny ran a second group of 3 anglers. Chris Williams has fished with Angling Adventures a few times and always has a great time. With 3 cleaning tables full of fish I can't say I have an accurate count of the fish Chris caught BUT I did see a table full of Drum, Specks, Flounder, Redfish, Sheepshead. It looked to be 40 or 50 fish.

Capt. Kent ran his first trip as a new captain for Angling Adventures. He fished with Michael Wallace and his daughter on her 16th birthday. She also had a friend with her. They fished the Lake Catherine area with live shrimp under corks or on the bottom. This group also came in with a mixed box of fish. Mike could not thank Capt. Kent & I enough. He really had a great time watching his daughter catch those fish.

David Dipazza came in from the BR area with his son Dave (15) and his father Andy (86). We fished the Biloxi Marsh area to catch 38 Speckled Trout, 3 Redfish and 1 Sheepshead before heading back to my dock. We all had a great time watching young Dave catch a nice Biloxi Marsh Redfish.

Tom Cooper has fished with me over 10 years. This trip he came in with his brother I.E. They spent the night at the SPOTS & DOTS LODGE. We hit the water at 7am.  I fished a shell lined bottom of a deep channel to catch 75 nice Specks. We were done by noon. As always a fun time with Tom and I.E.

I have a few dates open in November and several great Captains. Call to book your ANGLING ADVENTURE. On site ACCOMMODATIONS & NO-FISH-NO-PAY-GUARANTEE-!-!-!

STEVE MCNEMAR

MADISONVILLE, LA USA

My father Ralph and my late brother Danny share October as the month of their birthdays.
Every year for a long time now I have celebrated both by taking my father fishing on Danny's birthday.
Today was that day.
As life has gotten in the way of using my own boat for the occassion; over the last several years, I have employed the services of Captain Mike Gallo.
Each year seems to outdo the previous year.
Captain Mike is the type of guy who understands the needs of his customers and unlike a lot of guides always remembers who his friends are.
He always understands the significance of the day and goes out of his way to make it special.
Today was no exception.
The bite was on from the first cast and it was truly insane. Plastics and Gulps! tossed overboard were eaten with hungry abandon.
We finished the day early with over 150 fish-around 120 white trout and 30 specks with three beautiful reds thrown in for the grill.
Thank you Captain Mike for another great day of memories and thank you Danny for smiling on us as we celebrated another birthday with you.

RIGOLETS FISHING REPORT

Dutch Prager & Al Calabrese in the Biloxi Marsh. Another fun trip to the marsh. Dutch & Al fished hard to catch the limit of REDFISH in the Biloxi Marsh. We started off in the marsh near Bayou Bienvenue. Fished a few spots in Bayou's and ponds with only 2 Redfish to show. The seas were light so we made the move to the Biloxi Marsh. We fished the interior of the marsh catching 5 more in a short time. We decided to move to the exterior of the marsh to finish off the limit and try to get Dutch hooked up on a Big Bull Redfish. We fished two more spots with only small Redfish that Dutch tagged and released. Moved back deep into the marsh to finish off the limit. Dutch & Al fished hard. Some days good & some days better. Always a fun day with Dutch & Al. All Redfish caught on Spinners & shrimp under a cork.

I have some dates open in September, several boats to handle your corporate group or family & friends. All with a NO-FISH-NO-PAY-GUARANTEE-!-!-!-!

On site accommodations sleeps 10 with all the comforts of home.

RIGOLETS FISHING REPORTS

I had the good fortune to fish with John Sanders, his dad Fred and his brother-N-law Jack. We fished the Biloxi Marsh for Redfish. Shrimp under a cork was the ticket to a box full of Redfish and clients full of smiles.  John wanted to catch Flounder so we left the Redfish biting to look for Flounder. We caught 1 Flounder before the heat made the group ready to head for the shade of the SPOTS & DOTS LODGE. Box count 12 Redfish & 1 Flounder, 3 Happy clients ! ! !

Scott Lambert came in with his dad Henry & friends Glen, Malachi (14) & Logan (19). Glad the BLUE WAVE IS BIG & OPEN.  We fished the local area with live shrimp & Mullet on the bottom to catch 40 White Trout, 3 Specks and 1 Black Drum. We all had a great time watching the kids catch fish. I look forward to there return.

Rick Cosentino made the short drive in from Baton Rouge area with wife Sandra and son Rick. They stayed in the SPOTS & DOTS LODGE and were ready at the crack of dawn. We fished the deep waters of Unknown pass to catch a big box of trout. 41 White Trout, 23 Speckled Trout and 1 Flounder. We left Unknown pass at mid morning to look for Redfish. The western shore of Lake Borgne still has some nice slot Redfish running the shore. We caught 3 before deciding to head for the AC at the lodge.  A fun family to fish with. I had the good fortune to guide & fish with Dutch Prager and his fellow MARSH-AHOLIC Al Calabrese. We fished the Biloxi Marsh area with Spinners & shrimp under a cork to catch the limit of nice fat Biloxi Marsh Redfish. Al caught some big bull reds at over 20 lbs. Josh & Dillan wanted to catch some Speckled Trout to enter the CCA Star tournament. We made several moves before finding a school of Specks. Fishing plastics under corks and live shrimp on the bottom we caught 46 Specks & 7 White trout before a rain storm ran us to the Biloxi Marsh. Josh & Dilan had never caught keeper Redfish. We fished shrimp under corks to catch 5 Redfish up to 24", before another rain shower ran us back to the SPOTS & DOTS DOCK. I had a fun time with Josh & Dillan and will fish with them again soon.

RIGOLETS REDFISH REPORTS

The fishing in the Rigolets area is getting better with each incoming tide.

My clients have been happy with the hard fighting REDFISH.

I had the good fortune to guide and fish with Rick & Eric Dupont along with there mother. We fished the Biloxi Marsh with shrimp under a cork (technique #5) to catch a limit of nice slot sized REDFISH. This family was a blast to fish with. We also caught 2 Flounder which mom was very pleased with.

Next in my appointment book long time client Steve Purcell with some of his clients. We made our way over to the Biloxi Marsh. Steve loves to fish a Chatterbait. I set Up Nick, Aaron & Courtney with shrimp under a cork (technique #5) The going was slow at first with only a few Redfish to show BUT when the tide turned and started to fall the bite was much more aggressive. We ended the day with a 20 REDFISH limit. This was a fun group to fish with. They are looking forward to fishing with me again.

George Graves came in last year in his own boat, BUT this year he sold his boat and decided to fish with me. He came in from MS with his son Zack (18), friend Chris and Chris's son J.C. (16). They spent a few nights in the SPOTS & DOTS LODGE and fished two days with me. The first trip I had all 4 one the Blue Wave Pure Bay. The second trip I had 3. Chris could not make the trip. Day 1 we fished the Biloxi Marsh, again the bite was better later in the day with the falling tide. Finished the day with 16 Fat Biloxi Marsh Redfish. Day 2 we fished the local area so the guys could get back to MS. We found a few pockets of flooded grass with some nice Redfish close to the grass. The shrimp under a cork did the trick both days. Finished with 19.  2 days 7 anglers & 7 limits of Redfish. We did it the hard way but we got it done.  I had a fun time with this group, I look forward to there return.

I have several boats to handle your family, Friends or Corporate Clients.
On site Accommodations & GUARANTEED FISH & FUN. Call to book your ANGLING ADVENTURE 985-781-7811 or 877-4-AAofLA.

RIGOLETS FISHING REPORTS

Neil Skinner came in with his older brother Joe, neighbor John and John's daughter Matty (14). We made our way over to a small island near the Biloxi Marsh. We spotted some birds and set up a drift. We caught some nice Specks. I made another drift catching a few more trout. I then set the anchor. They caught Specks until they were ready to move into the marsh to catch Redfish. I set up on some flooded grass near the shore of a small bay. Live shrimp under a cork had the Redfish comming to the boat. The Falcon Rods were bent double, as we had two Redfish on at one time. We caught a few at our first stop, then moved a few hundred yards until I spotted another flooded grass bank with bait. This pattern was how we fished until we decided to beat the heat and head back to the SPOTS & DOTS DOCK. I have had the pleasure to fish with Neil for over 10 years. Back at the dock I cleaned 29 Speckled Trout, 3 White Trout & 8 Fat Redfish. I look forward to there return.

Roumay Oliver came in with family & friends, 5 in all. I'm glad the Blue wave is open and spacious. We made our way over to the Biloxi Marsh to look for REDFISH. Roumay had with him uncle Garfield, brother Schuyler, and friends Mike & Elliot. 1st stop 1st cast Schuyler missed a big Redfish it broke off right next to the boat. We did catch 3 at that spot. We made several more moves before we started to catch. The pattern was the same as my last trip. Flodded grass with bait near by. We fished 5 or 6 areas with flodded grass along the same shore catching a few at each spot. We fished this pattern until the guys put 25 Redfish in the box. Live shrimp and technique #5 ( see my web site ) were the ticked to a full box of fish and a full boat of smiles! ! ! We all had a fun time and I look forward to there return. The guys ended the day with 25 Redfish and 1 Blk Drum. Our Redfish were 3 to 10 lbs.

Capt Jim ran a second boat.  Jim fished with Will Galindo and his two young sons (12 & 14). They fished the same area in the marsh to catch a big box of Redfish and several Speckled Trout.  Most caught on shrimp under a cork but some on plastic with a spinner.

A big THANK YOU to all of our service men & women. HAPPY 4 OF JULY TO ALL.

We are on a good summer pattern of catching Redfish in the Biloxi Marsh. Call to book your trip 985-781-7811 or 877-4-AAofLA.

RIGOLETS FISHING REPORTS

I had a great time guiding Champ & Wendy Thornton into the Biloxi Marsh for some hard fighting REDFISH. This was a birthday trip for Champ, provided by his mom & dad Mike & Mary Thornton. I enjoy fishing with all the Thorntons.  We always have a fun time. This trip Wendy put the pressure on her husband Champ. She had 4 nice Redfish in the box before Champ caught his first. They had a fun time competing with each other until the limit was reached. Wendy caught the biggest fish of her life a Bull Red at 14 lbs. Champ caught the biggest fish of his life with a 15 lb Bull Red. They also added 3 Flounder to the box. A FUN DAY & A HAPPY BIRTHDAY FOR CHAMP ! ! !

I had a late cancellation friday. I posted on RNR of open boats on Sat. Dutch Prager jumped on board "Duth's Cajun Limo"  Capt. Jim Lamarque jumped on to lend a hand. We fished the Biloxi Marsh area with live shrimp under a cork to catch the limit of Redfish. We all had a fun time together in the Biloxi Marsh.

I have had the pleasure to guide & fish with Steve Purcell since 1999. Steve came in from Tx with a group of 6, All friends, family & coworkers. Bob, Butch, Ben, Scott, Danny & Steve. We ran 3 boats and all headed to the Biloxi Marsh and Lake Borgne. Capt's Jim & John helped with the group. Of course there were bets on BIGGEST FISH. 13 year old Ben took home BIG FISH HONORS on the first day with a 30 lbs REDFISH.  GREAT JOB Ben. I don't know who had the bigger smile Ben or his dad Butch.  The next day was a short trip, we headed out just before sun up and were back at the SPOTS & DOTS DOCK before lunch. I handed out some new Chatterbaits and the reports were the Redfish ate them up. Steve caught the biggest on the second trip a nice Bull Red at just over 12 lbs. This group caught over 40 Redfish & 90 Specks in a day and a half of fishing.  As always an ANGLING ADVENTURE ! ! !

Capt. Kenny ran a trip with Grady King and friend Billy. The guys wanted Redfish. Capt. Kenny put the guys on a limit of Redfish, fishing shrimp under a cork. Kenny knows I have many Redfish trips and he would not tell me where his secret Redfish hole is. That's alright Kenny I have some secret holes also.

I can hook you up with great fishing & great captains. Call to book your ANGLING ADVENTURE 985-781-7811 or 877-4-AAofLA.

DUTCH PRAGER & AL CALABRESE REPORT

Just like most die hard fishermen in Louisiana. I fish hard and come home to look at RodNreel.com to see how others who fish often faired on there trip. Today I see Dutch Prager has posted a report.

I have had the PLEASURE to fish with Dutch since 2005. We both have a deep love for fishing the Biloxi Marsh. Dutch books a few trips a year with me and when ever I get the chance to take him back to HIS marsh I do so.

I have called my boats the "CAJUN LIMO" for over 10 years. Last year just after I purchased my new Blue Wave Pure Bay, I asked Dutch if I might have the HONOR to call my new boat "Dutch's Cajun Limo". He responded with a YES. This year in March just after picking up my new Blue Wave, I put the new Dutch's Cajun Limo redfish sticker in the boat. Dutch & Al had me booked for my first trip of the new season. March 15th. Check out the picture.

Two years ago I started fishing with Al Calabrese. Al moved here from Florida. It was a late October trip. I took Al to the Biloxi Marsh. We caught a bunch of Specks and a limit of Redfish. Al fished alone.  Al booked several more trips with me over the last 12 months. All with Al fishing alone.

Long story short I put Al & Dutch together on a trip to the Biloxi Marsh. They have fished together since then. They have a good time, each and every trip. They have several trips booked through the end of the season.

I look forward to fishing with Al & Dutch many more times in the Biloxi Marsh. Dutch and I are like old fishing friends that have the same deep love for fishing the Biloxi Marsh. Al now joins us in our Adventures and we welcome him into the MARSH-AHOLICS NATION.

Dutch & Al THANKS for your kind words. I always look forward to fishing with you two.

RIGOLETS FISHING REPORTS

Mark Damiani and I have fished since 2006, Mark lives right here in Slidell. This year he came in with his long time friend Steve from CA. Steve had never caught a REDFISH. I told Steve we could cure that problem. I pointed the Cajun Limo toward the Biloxi Marsh. We arrived to find high and rising water. We made our way into some skinny ponds  (the pure bay gets in skinny water). We fished spinners for a short time, Mark hooked a big Red but it got away. Next Steve set the hook on a nice fat REDFISH. We snapped a picture and went back to fishing. We fished about 30 minutes without a strike. I switched to an ATTRAXX POGY in Black Chr. I riged it weedless. (Check out TECHNIQUE 12 on my website. First cast I caught a nice 21" Red. I switched Mark & Steve to the ATTRAXX and started to get more strikes. We were able to sight cast to a few Reds and watch them attack the ATTRAXX. Very Exciting!!!!!  Mark & Steve had a hard time seeing the Reds. I told them my Flying Fisherman glasses helped me see the Redfish. We finished with the limit of nice Biloxi Marsh REDFISH. We all had a great time in the marsh.

RIGOLETS FISHING REPORTS

Dennis Atchison and coworkers Gary & Larry from Sara Lee Corp came in for 3 day of fishing fun. They stayed on site at my SPOTS & DOTS LODGE.  Larry only fished one day and loves to fish for Redfish. We hit the marsh with Spinners & shrimp under corks to catch the limit of Redfish. The 2 trips with Dennis & Gary we caught good numbers of Speckled Trout (78), some Redfish(4), Black Drum (4), & Flounder (3). I have had the pleadure to guide & fish with this group for four years and counting.

Steve Purcell of Phonix Installations came in from TX with a group of 9 anglers to fish for Redfish. I have fished with Steve since 1999. This year 9 anglers went into the Biloxi Marsh and 9 LIMITS of Redfish came out of the marsh. Mike Burnside came back with the largest Red on day 1. A BULL RED a over 13lbs to take the money.  I had to work hard for my limit. I knew the group were staying in my SPOTS & DOTS LODGE and fishing with me again the next day so with no time limit we put in the extra effort to come out of the marsh with the limit. The next day 5 anglers opted to return to the marsh for Redfish and 3 anglers wanted trout from Lake Borgne. At the cleaning table 5 LIMITS of Redfish were cleaned and over 50 Trout and a Black Drum over 50#. This was the money fish on day 2. As always a fun time was had by all, the group will return soon. Capt. Tommy & John did a great job again. This group loves to fish the Chatterbait and the Biloxi Marsh Reds ate it up!!!

All fish caught on Falcon Rods with Fins & Berkley line. The Blue Wave continues to impress myself and my clients.

It didn't take long we had a double. Ted had his first REDFISH. Our first drift froduce 4 Redfish. We made a move and finished off the limit and released several others. Another successful ANGLING ADVENTURE and another MARSH-AHOLIC.

ANGLING ADVENTURES OF LOUISIANA

RIGOLETS FISHING REPORTS

Monday: Neil Blanchard of Manheim came in with his client Doug Morris. Neil wanted Doug to catch his first Redfish, ( Doug is a Bass fishedman in AL) I told the guys that would be no problem, BUT I wanted them to take advantage of the solid trout bite we are having. We fished live shrimp catching 49 trout and then headed into the marsh to catch REDFISH. I set the guys up with spinners and we fished Bass style with Neil catching a big 8lb Red to get things started. Then Doug caught his first Redfish. We continued fishing spinners until the limit was reached, then we released a few for good luck. We had a fun time ! ! !

Wed: Capt Tommy ran a trip with Scott Woods & Associates. They fished Lake Pontchartrain to catch over 50 Specks and several nice Black Drum.

Thursday: I had Barry Fox and a Shamrock Construction crew of Mark & Billy. We left my dock with a well full of live shrimp. We fished the tracks over Lake Pontchartrain and came back before lunch with a 75 Speck limit.

Friday: Mike & Marry Thornton came in with fishing friend Mike. They spent the night in my SPOTS & DOTS LODGE. They were ready bright and early. We fished the same area of the lake to catch 55Specks and a few Black Drum. We left the lake at 10:30 to fish the West shore line of Lake Borgne to look for some Redfish. We spotted 9 hooked 5 and landed 3. WE had some hard luck with the Redfish.

Saturday: I fished with Eddie Craft, his wife Jimmie and friends Steve & James. We fished Lake Pontchartrain with live shrimp on my drop shot rig to catch 52 Specks, 4 Black Drum and a Flounder. The Specks we caught on the incomming tide were much bigger than we caught on the falling tide, many in the 2 to 3lb range. This was a fun group to fish, Jimmie had to show the guys how it's done ! ! !

Capt. Tommy fished with Ivan Echegarrua and friend Scott. They also fished the tracks with live shrimp catching the limit and several drum as well. They weren't too far from where we were and I could see they were having a fun time.

FISHING REPORT

I had the pleasure to once again fish with Louisiana fishing legend Dutch Prager. For whom my boat is named after, "Dutch's Cajun Limo". Dutch had fishing friend Al Calabrese along. I set this duo up with new fishing friend Sydney Ross of BR. Our game plan was to fish for trout early then hit the marsh ponds for some REDFISH. We fished the protected south shore of Lake Borgne to catch 20 Specks and 1 Flounder. We fished with plastics on the bottom. Most caught on Dudleys Salt & Pepper or Fool's Gold color. We then moved into the shallow duck ponds and fished Spinners (Al) & Shrimp under corks Dutch & Sydney to catch a limit of Redfish. We had a fun time as always and I'll see these guys soon.

I have several boats to handle your corporate group or family & friends. All with GUARANTEED FISH & FUN ! ! !

Rigolets fishing report

I had the good fortune to guide and fish with Michael "STICK" Wickert and his friend Nick. The guys drove 15+ hours from Madison WI to fish with AAofLA and visit New Orleans. Mike is a Rock & Roll DJ in Madisons. We had a fun time in Lake Pontchartrain catching Speckled Trout and a Flounder. We didn't catch any big numbers of trout BUT the size on the back side of the April moon is very good. Fished till lunch and came in with 21 Specks and one 3+lb Flounder. Half of our Specks were over 3 lbs, Mike caught the biggest of the day at 4.25 lbs on the Boga Grip. We had a fun time on the water and the guys are heading back to WI to cook up some fresh LA Speckled Trout. We caught these Specks on the Dudley Salt & Pepper/char tail in both Bay Chovie and TT.

The Speck fishing in the Rigolets area will be good for some time. Call to book your ANGLING ADVENTURE 985-781-7811 or 877-4-AAofLA

SATURDAY:  Fished the CCA Redfish Challenge. The weather was a challenge. I fished with long time client Norman Norton & my uncle Dan Couvillion. We finished 16th. Not where we wanted but not bad either.

Monday: Fished with La Tech Communicatiuons, Charlie Rousel and his long time friend Chris. The guys have a boat and wanted to learn the local area. We fished the bridges over Lake Pontchartrain with Dudleys in Salt & Pepper/Char to catch the limit of Specks along with a couple of Flounder. These guys were fun to fish with. I sent them home with several gallon bags of fish to cook.

Today: I fished with Don Dubuc for the ABC26 news "Outdoors with Don Dubuc" fishing report. Don came with his nephew Mike and I had Craig Suarez of Tech Auto Glass. BILOXI MARSH FISHING REPORT

Jeff Songer came in with a couple of Consolidated Electrical Distributors salesmen. They stayed in the SPOTS & DOTS LAKE HOUSE for a sales training, then some marsh fishing. We made our way over to the Biloxi Marsh, where I set up Doug, Jeff & Jeff with spinners & Dudleys. We fished several areas with only a few Redfish to show. The high winds from the previous days had the water dirty. I made a move deep into the marsh looking for clean water. Our last stop produced 8 more Reds to finish off the limit. With Doug catching the last REDFISH at 30" a nice fat REDFISH. We made our way back in the chop. The Blue Wave Pure Bay continues to impress. Jeff, Doug & Jeff did a great job in tough conditions. Jeff says "We'll be back" I look forward to there return.

I set the guys up with H&H spinners with the new Slamin Sammy color Dudley. This family had a great time. The guys catching Reds and mom netting them and taking pictures. With 15 Redfish caught and 8 they decided to keep, we called it a day. I pointed the Blue Wave back to the SPOTS & DOTS DOCK. I'm sure the boys are sleeping in the car on the ride back to Florida. BILOXI MARSH REPORT

Mike Barecca came in from Al with coworkers Kelly & Paul. I have had the pleasure to guide and fish with this group for several years. They had a good nights sleep in the SPOTS & DOTS LODGE, They were ready to go at first light. We made our way to the Biloxi Marsh in the new Blue Wave. This Pure Bay continues to impress me, and my clients love all the room to fish. Our first stop was deep in the marsh. We caught 6 nice Redfish with shrimp under a cork. I made a move to more open water hoping to catch some big Reds, But we didn't find any. I made another move deeper in the marsh where we finished off the limit with H&H Spinners & Shrimp under a cork. Mike, Paul & Kelly were all smiles. We always have a fun time on the water. I think I have Mike hooked on the H&H Spinners.

The marsh has Redfish & Lake Pontchartrain has had some good sized Specks, when the winds will let you fish. I have several boats to handle your group. Call to book your ANGLING ADVENTURE. 985-781-7811 or 877-4-AAofLA

MARSH MADNESS HAS BEGUN ! ! !

Made a trip out to the Biloxi Marsh in the new BOAT STUF BLUE WAVE. This is a great fishing machine ! ! ! Louisiana fishing Legend Duch Prager & his fishing friend Al Calabrese were with me for my first official trip of the season. Dutch is the reason I named the new Pure Bay 2400 "DUTCH'S CAJUN LIMO". We fished the Biloxi Marsh with some new Deadly Dudley color Bay Chovie's. The three new colors all caught nice Fat Redfish. Fool's Gold, Purple Demon, and a color with out a name. I'm trying to get Dudley to call it "Vomit", Dudley likes the name but his wife Kim doesn't. We will see. Dutch likes to fish with a cork and the Redfish also ate the shrimp under a cork. Al caught a nice Bull Redfish at 12 lbs. As usuall we all had a great day in the marsh catching the limit of REDFISH ! ! !

The fishing is heating up. Give me a call to book your ANGLING ADVENTURE 985-781-7811 or 877-4-AAofLA.

Angling Adventures of Louisiana

I met Capt. Tommy Williams last year in May. The oil spill closed the area he fishes offshore. Capt. Tommy is very easy going and loves to catch fish, soon I had him working for Angling Adventures taking out corporate groups requiring more than one boat. We fished together many times in the Spring, Summer & Fall. Capt. Tommy learned that I had a desire to catch a Tuna. Saturday we departed Venice in search of Tuna. On our trip were Myself and two of my clients Joby Church & Blair Sebert. Capt. Tommy's dad Wyatt rounded out our crew.  We made two stops to catch bait, then headed to the floaters. Once there we could see Tuna busting bait on the surface. Capt. Tommy drifted through the Tuna. Capt Tommy set me up with a Topwater Plug on Spinning tackle. I caught my first ever Yellowfin Tuna on a Topwater Plug. That was alot of fun. Those Tuna fight hard. Next Joby caught a Yellowfin Tuna and then Blair. The Yellowfin bite stopped and the Blackfin started. These fish were smaller, in the 8 to 12 lb range but still put up a great fight on spinning gear. We caught over 50 Blackfin before calling it a night. We made a short move to another platfore to tie up for the night. We caught a few more Blackfin's at this platform. All our Blackfin's were caught jigging dimond jigs at different depts. Next morning we caught another Blackfin before moving to another platfore to look for Aj's. I caught my first AmberJack. That is a very hard fighting fish also. We caught another Aj before heading in. We all had a great time and will do it again. The Amberjacks were caught on the Dimond Jig also.

If you are looking for an offshore trip give GREAT ESCAPE II CHARTERS a call 985-288-7694.

Capt. Tommy and I will both be at the Boat show in Slidell this weekend. Stop by and let's talk some fishing ! ! !
